COUNCIL CANDIDATE KICKS OFF PETITION DRIVE AT STATEN ISLAND
FERRY TERMINAL
Staten Island, N.Y. - City Council candidate (49th
- North Shore) Debi Rose officially kicked off the start of petitioning
this morning by greeting and getting signatures from potential voters at the
Staten Island Ferry Terminal in St. George.
This campaign will be about going to the Democratic
voters where they live, work, shop and commute, Ms. Rose stated. As
I have done for the last year, whether through my Community Conventions or
attending community/civic organization meetings, I am taking my message of
experience directly to the voters of the 49th Council
district, she continued. Mine will truly be a grassroots, community
based campaign to add a new voice to the City Council, she concluded.

This weekend, Ms. Rose opened her new campaign office
at 85 Victory Boulevard, Tompkinsville, where supporters and volunteers joined
her in preparation for the start of petitioning for the City Council seat. Over
100 supporters volunteered to carry petitions to get her on the ballot for the
Democratic Primary on September 11th. Starting today the volunteers will be
collecting signatures from registered Democrats and registering new voters by
going door-to-door in the 49th Council District. |

Volunteers from the Debi Rose campaign will be at the Staten
Island Ferry in St. George in the mornings for the rest of this week from 7:00
am to 9:00 am.
